The Ochsner pediatric orthopedics team treats children for the full range of musculoskeletal conditions using a multidisciplinary approach and the latest techniques and technologies. Based at Ochsner Children’s Hospital, our pediatric orthopedics program serves patients from Louisiana, Mississippi and far beyond. Our reputation for excellence has made Ochsner a pediatric orthopedics regional referral center, bringing families from throughout the Gulf South to seek the highest level of care for their children.
How is Ochsner involved in our community? We’re a national leader in vertebral body tethering, a minimally invasive treatment that preserves the motion of the spine right here in New Orleans. Vertebral body tethering involves placing metal anchors on the outward-curving part of the spine, and those anchors are connected by a cord. Initially the cord gets a lot of correction, but with growth, the tether gradually straightens the spine. We see patients from around the country who are interested in this cutting-edge treatment.
What is special about New Orleans to the company? At Ochsner Children’s Hospital, we’re truly dedicated to the well-being of your kids. We take immense pride in sharing that for four consecutive years, Ochsner Children’s Hospital has been ranked No. 1 in Louisiana and among the nation’s top 50 children’s hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. We are also the only hospital in the region to be nationally ranked in three children’s specialties including Pediatric Orthopedics.
What products/services do you offer? Spine conditions, hip conditions, foot conditions, hand conditions, knee conditions, leg conditions, neuromuscular conditions, and trauma and infections.
